Why So Many Stupid People On TV?

     pod4       Lately there have been a lot of “real-life” shows featuring real people in their normal everyday lives. These shows usually have one similarity between them, some or all of the people featured on these shows are stupid. So why are so many stupid people on TV these days? TV should be used to showcase the smartest people we have so that viewers can have a role-model and raise the bar on what is considered normal in our culture. At this point we could almost have a channel specifically featuring stupid people. The trend of putting stupid people on TV continues to grow, why? That is what I will be discussing in this article.

Why is “Hard Work” Valued Over “Efficiency?”

       rpm     I have always hated working hard for the sake of working hard. If I work hard at achieving a task, their needs to be a logical and clear reason. Throughout my childhood I would often be told to complete tasks such as chores or school work only to get in trouble when the adults found that I had not been doing the task the “correct” way. If I did chores too quickly or efficiently, I would be told that it is: not clean enough, needs to be painted again, etc. A car that is going 25 MPH and has its engine going at 4,000 RPM is not praised for working so hard, but looked at more closely since something is clearly wrong. Efficiency should be our highest personal value in our culture, but it is not, why is this? That is what I will discuss in this article.

Why History Classes are Not Tought Properly

         history   I recently graduated from college. I will continue my streak of talking about my educational experience and talking shit against the educational system by diving into the subject of history. For years I never understood the significance of history, why would it be one of the most important subjects? Until the very end of my very last history class of my college career, I didn’t know. In this article I will discuss why the subject of history is not presented to students well and what I would call the subject instead.
